Ahmed Hassan wants Lierse Move
Egyptian Legend, Ahmed Hassan dreams of making a return to Belgian football.
Ahmed Hassan and Lierse S.K have both confirmed intent to see a deal through. Lierse chairman Maged Samy has revealed that the speculated deal would see the former Anderlecht man in Lierse for a year. However, Hassan remains locked into a contract with Cairo giants Zamalek.
The former Anderlecht player, 37 year, has vocalized his desire to make a move.
Hassan would like a move to Lierse himself, but he is under contract for another year and must receive approval from Zamalek. “The point is: I am not that much of an important player for Zamalek” said Hassan.
“Maged Samy is a very good friend of mine. I would love to help him,” said Hassan in the Gazet van Antwerpen. “I come not for the money, but for Samy. I also would love to see my fellow compatriots at Lierse”
“Hassan is a personal friend of the President. In Zamalek, Hassan was not paid for a while. Moreover, it is far from clear if the Egyptian league will be resumed, “explained the Lierse CEO, Jesse De Preter.
The Egyptian Lierse chairman Maged Samy has been trying his best for several weeks to loosen Hassan from Zamalek. Zamalek has seen not seen months of leauge action, ever since the domestic league was shut down after the unfortunate events of Port Said.
“So I want to come, but my contract with Zamalek is still ongoing. I’ll be urging my club to get me released. This week I talk again with the board.”
